‘Humans seem to have an urge to look for an emotion or connect a feeling to an animal even though they might not have a strong mimicry or expression. This interaction is what fascinates me. By placing the animals in an unnatural habitat, I hope to create a quiet setting where the engagement between viewer and painting is intensified.’
